Kylee’s Kitchen:

PDSG offers a microwave based cooking class for teens and adults with Down syndrome. The class is meant to teach and encourage independent living skills while having fun alongside new and old friends. Volunteers will be paired up one-on-one to help the participants complete the week’s recipe. This is an extremely fun and rewarding opportunity and the participants LOVE hanging out and cooking alongside their friends!

Tutoring:

PDSG has hired a Special Education teacher to prepare a lesson plan but the tutor will need several volunteers to serve as tutoring aids. Tutoring aids are not required to have a background in teaching, but rather a willing attitude and fun countenance.

Speech and Language Tutoring:

DSACO has hired a certified speech-language pathologist to prepare a lesson plan but she will need several volunteers to help her facilitate the lesson! Volunteers will serve as aids to our therapist and will work one-on-one with each child/teen who signs up! There is no prior training required for volunteers, so please do not hesitate to attend if this is your first time!
